Fall is a perfect time to buy or order bulbs and many are on sale. By surfing the web or picking up a few gardening magazines you can get an idea of what bulbs will do well in you area and purchase them now before the selection has been picked over.
Bulbs are a wonderful addition to any yard or garden. Once planted, bulbs take little care and are a surprise when they pop up and take on life and color. For those who live in the colder areas the first Crocus that pops through the snow is a welcome sign of spring.

As the cold creeps in, it’s time for a Fall garden check up. Here is a guide on what to remove, keep, plant, cut back, and how to read and care for your garden during this transitional time. With a few quick fixes, you’ll not only have some gorgeous clippings to dress up your table, but exterior spaces that look lush and lively well into fall.
What to Dig up. Many summer annuals, like zinnias, cosmos and impatiens, will just now be starting to turn yellow and will worsen or die out completely with the frost. These can be dug up and completely removed.

There’s nothing like a few carefully placed containers to give a garden a quick face lift. If your home’s exterior is suffering from a boring view, it’s time to spruce it up.
You can put a couple of planters in front of the house or around the pool or patio area to update your styling. Try using several containers of varying heights to create an eye-catching group. Also combining round planters with wider bowls or square planters you can really work with those shapes.
