I read somewhere that the US Fish & Wildlife Service reports that approximately 54 million people in the US feed wild birds. Feeding the birds has become the second most popular hobby in our country. There are some people who think that putting out food for the birds is wrong, for various reasons, some of which may be valid. However, most wildlife organizations not only consider that feeding the birds is alright, they also sell both bird seed and bird feeders. This is a preview of Why You Should Feed Wild Birds.. Feeding Birds in the Fall

Humans aren’t the only ones who look forward to the autumn harvest. Fall brings a bounty of natural foods for our feathered friends, too. But birds are also planning ahead, taking note of yards with bird feeders that can help them weather winter’s cold. Many of birds’ favorite foods are actually more abundant in the fall. Summer weeds ripen with seeds by October. Many berries only begin to emerge in late summer or early winter, and insects are plentiful. You may think there’s no need to feed your feathered friends during the fall, but if you want them to find your home in the winter, start feeding them in autumn. Leave a comment about your favorite type of birdbath. Bird loves to take bath and they need fresh water to survive just as we do. They need water to drink and water in which to bathe. Water in these warmer months also helps birds stay cool, just as it does us. If you haven’t provided water for birds during the summer because you think that we had plenty of rain, you may want to consider adding a birdbath to your offerings for the birds. Attracting Birds to Your Yard

Leave a comment on your favorite ways for attracting birds. Food is a great way to get an array of fine-feathered friends to stop by. These include finches, mockingbirds, robins, cardinals, mourning doves, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, as well as the usual suspects: pigeons, house sparrows and starlings. Yards with an abundance of greenery will attract more birds, since they like to feel safe when eating. Put the feeders up near some cover — a bush or shrub or tree — where they can just grab some food and fly to a protected space and eat it, hanging feeders about five feet off the ground. Making it easy enough for you to reach, and too high for cats and other animals to get at. This is a preview of Attracting Birds to Your Yard.
