Planting a Living Wall

Where I live in Kentucky I want to create a living wall of plants, those I don’t need it I have never had one. I want one that where the living green mass of summer become a mass of branches and twigs in the winter. So I walk around the neighborhood to see what the neighbor have pick and gone though magazines and wed sites to see what I would like. Eventually I will have all kinds of deciduous and evergreen shrubs or trees planted to take care of my living wall.

I like my garden private! I like to escape and read or feed the fish or not be bothered by anyone seeing me. Where I can go out in the morning in my PJ and not worry about anyone seeing me.

Every year in my garden seems to grow larger and larger. Plants that were growing a few inches a year somehow accelerate the bigger they get. Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong here.

This is how plants grow and eventually they slow down. The problem comes when someone with as much desire to fit every plant that she likes in a manner becoming a nice garden runs out of room and they all start growing normally into one another. The results are that you need to prune or eliminate some plants entirely.

So now I have a problem of what to plants that will not be to hard to maintenance. That also has nice color spring thru fall, and look good together as they mature. Do I really only have to choose just a few plants? Ah well let the fun begin. Maybe I will take all winter to decide and start planting in the spring.

I hope that you don’t think of me as unfriendly by want some privacy because I like my neighbors and get along with all of them. All of my neighbors have large yards filled with lawn and plantings and all their patio furniture, toys, bicycles, playground equipment, and barbecues. It’s really is a great neighborhood. Well maybe I well just block the view of the cows. Until next time. Candy.
